HAT HIRE PROCESS

Before Hiring a Hat

Prices for hire range from £50-£300

Initially, we recommend that you book an appointment to choose the hat you would like to hire, as we carry a large selection. Please make sure that you bring the full outfit you are wearing to the occasion, as well as shoes, bag, accessories etc.

In order to book your appointment, we require you to email or WA a couple of photos where you are wearing the dress for this occasion as well as paying the deposit of £50 to secure your consultation. In the unfortunate case that at the end of your session you decide not to proceed with your hat hire contract, this deposit is non-refundable.

The hirer will be asked to sign an agreement at the time of booking. If the hat is lost or damaged, the amount payable is the value of the hat plus the hire charge.

The agreement states the value to replace the particular item if it is lost, stolen or damaged (including any dents, loss of decoration or water damage).

The total value must be paid to Ultimate Design Hats by the hirer should this happen.

Once you arrive at your appointment, you are in safe hands. We will do our absolute best to help you hire the hat of your dreams!

Hire Duration

Hire duration is for a maximum of three days.

If the hat is not returned within this period, Ultimate Design Hats may charge for extra hire time. Subsequent days without notice will apply. If you need a hat longer than three days please call in advance to discuss with us and we will do our best to accommodate this.

Cancellation of a hat-hire must be made no less than one week before the event in order for a refund to be issued. Ultimate Design Hats will charge a £50 fee for any cancellation to cover the consultation cost which will be deducted from the hire sum.

If after you have had your consultation you decide to cancel your hat hire with less than a week before the event, you will only be refunded the hire cost and the deposit will remain to cover the consultation cost plus any work already carried out to the hat booked.

Ultimate Design Hats understands that the Scottish weather is inevitable, however, care should be taken when wearing a hat/headpiece in the rain. All hats and/or fascinators should be kept under an umbrella at all times as all hats/headpieces are very vulnerable if subjected to rain.

Payment For Hiring And Deposit

Must be made at the time of booking

Credit card details will be taken as a form of deposit and will only be deducted accordingly after a signed contract between the hirer and Ultimate Design Hats

All details below must be completed before we release the hat.

  • Contract – signed and agreed
  • Payment

Account details will be required for the refund to be processed once the hat has been returned in perfect condition and within the time frame agreed.

All hat boxes must be returned, if any damage occurs to a box an additional charge of £15 will be applied.

We know hats are a skill in itself to wear, we are happy to give you tips and pointers on how to wear it and how to put it on for the occasion.

COMPETITION PRIZES

When you have been the lucky winner of a HAT HIRE Competition the hire duration apply as any other which is three days.

The prize is a hat hire at the value of £50. You will only have to pay the deposit in order to book the hat, for your chosen date. The deposit will be returned to you when the hat and packaging is returned to the store in its original condition. You can also redeem this price against a more expensive hire range if you wish. A hat hire contract outlining these details will also have to be signed.
